Together We Rise: Just Subs and Fire Department Thank Community

Sunday evening brought a harrowing experience for the Clinton community as a fire tore through the Walgreens strip mall. Thankfully, due to the swift response of the Clinton Fire Department and a crucial firewall, Just Subs, a local favorite, emerged with some damage.

Johnny Zaloumes, owner of Just Subs in Clinton, expresses his gratitude: "Thanks to the dedication of the Clinton Fire Department, police officers and the placement of the firewall, Just Subs survived the damage and is on track to reopen this Saturday, March 2nd." Johnny would like to thank the whole community for the support, friends, family and everybody.

Clinton Fire Chief Jeff Hedden details the fight against the blaze: "On Sunday night we were dispatched to a structure fire. We arrived with heavy flames from the roof. Walgreens roof collapsed within a couple of minutes being on seen. We were able to hold the fire at the firewall,  and save the two other businesses of the strip mall."

Chief Hedden extends his appreciation: "The community outreach has been great.  Coffees and pizzas were delivered that night. Monday night as we were cleaning up the community cooked dinners and delivered dinners to the fire house. We just want to thank everybody involved. The police department, rescue squad and the town of Clinton."

This incident highlights the unwavering spirit of the Clinton community and the residents of Hunterdon County that rallies together in times of need.
